- Your BMI (body mass index) is 40 or higher, and you weigh less than 440 pounds
- You are scheduled for weight-loss surgery (Sleeve Gastrectomy or Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass)
- You have not had previous weight-loss surgery or major abdominal surgery
- You can commit to study visits and follow-up appointments
- Your medical and mental health conditions are well-controlled with treatment
