Blood Flow Restriction Exercise for Older Adults

Dynapenia

Part of Bones, joints & muscles clinical trials.

This study tests a special exercise technique using gentle arm pressure during leg exercises to help older adults build muscle strength and improve mobility. Researchers want to see if this method works better than standard exercise for people who are losing muscle mass due to inactivity.

NCT06724393Enrolling by invitation
Blood Flow Restriction Exercise for Older Adults

This study tests whether low-intensity exercise with blood flow restriction (using special cuffs on your arms or legs) can improve strength and daily function in older adults. You join online classes from home and go to the campus three times for check-ups.

NCT06986395Not yet recruiting
Blood flow restriction training for age-related muscle loss

This trial tests whether a type of exercise using blood flow restriction (gentle pressure on the arms or legs while training) can help older adults with muscle loss regain strength. It is for hospitalized patients who are stable and have no major health risks.

NCT07155967Enrolling by invitation
Blood flow restriction training for leg strength in older women

This trial tests whether a type of strength training that partly uses blood flow restriction can help older women build leg strength on one side, which may also benefit the other leg. It's for women who are generally healthy and have not had recent leg injuries or surgeries.

NCT06441422Recruiting
Blood flow training for people with disabilities

This trial tests if using a blood pressure cuff during arm exercises can help people with disabilities build muscle strength. It's designed to be safe and effective for those who can do upper body movements.

Breathing and Muscle Training for Frail Older Adults

This study tests whether combining special breathing exercises with a blood-flow restriction technique (using arm bands during movement) can safely improve strength and function in older adults who are experiencing frailty. The goal is to see if this approach is feasible and helpful for community-living seniors.

Effect of age on muscle endurance with blood flow restriction

This study looks at how age affects muscle endurance during arm or leg exercises with or without blood flow restriction (a special cuff that lightly squeezes the limb). It will help understand if older adults respond differently to this type of training.
