Who can take part

  • You are 18–75 years old
  • You were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at least 6 months ago
  • You take only metformin, or metformin plus an SGLT2 inhibitor (a water-pill type diabetes medication), and have been on a stable dose for at least 3 months
  • Your blood sugar control (HbA1c) is in the target range: 6.5–9.5% on metformin alone, or 6.0–9.0% on metformin plus SGLT2i
  • You have not had significant weight changes (5% or more) or tried to lose weight in the past 3 months
  • You do not have a history of heart attack, stroke, or serious heart problems in the past 6 months
