Kidney Artery Blocking Treatment for Polycystic Kidney Disease

Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD)

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 74 years old
  • You have autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (a genetic condition causing multiple cysts to grow in the kidneys)
  • Your kidneys are enlarged to a specific size (between 2000 and 5000 mL, roughly the size of grapefruits or larger)
  • You are currently on dialysis (kidney-filtering treatment)
  • You are scheduled to have or have recently had renal embolization (a procedure to block blood flow to the kidneys)
  • You can safely undergo MRI scans (imaging tests) without contrast dye
