Diet study for polycystic kidney disease

Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD)

Who can take part

  • You have a confirmed diagnosis of ADPKD, with a genetic test showing PKD1 or PKD2
  • Your kidney function (eGFR) is above a certain level (greater than 30 mL/min/1.73m2)
  • Your kidney imaging shows a specific type (class 1C, 1D, or 1E on the Mayo scale)
  • You are willing to follow a diet plan for 1 week and complete the study
  • You are not currently taking the medicine Tolvaptan
  • You do not have diabetes, heart failure with very low pumping function, or advanced kidney disease (stage 4 or higher)
