Who can take part
- You have an oral cancer confirmed by biopsy.
- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You are generally healthy enough to perform daily activities (Karnofsky score of 70 or higher).
- You are scheduled to receive radiation therapy (IMRT) to the head or neck, with or without chemotherapy.
- Your kidney and liver function, and blood counts, are within acceptable ranges for the study.
- You have not had radiation therapy to the head or neck before.
