Who can take part

  • Your baby was born at 32 weeks of pregnancy or earlier
  • Your baby is currently on a breathing tube (intubated) in the hospital
  • The medical team is considering whether your baby is ready to come off the breathing tube
  • Your baby does not have skeletal (bone), neuromuscular (nerve/muscle), or abdominal surgical conditions that would interfere with breathing measurements
