Who can take part
- You are Chinese, between 18 and 75 years old
- You have had asthma for at least 1 year, diagnosed before age 40
- Your asthma is not well-controlled even though you've been on the same medium-dose combination of two inhaled asthma medicines for at least 4 weeks
- Your lung function (FEV1) is below 80% of normal when tested without bronchodilators
- You have not needed steroid pills, emergency care, or hospitalization for asthma in the past 4 weeks
- You are not a current smoker and have not smoked heavily in the past year
