Nerve Block to Reduce Pain During Below-Knee Fracture Surgery

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • Your overall health is stable enough for surgery (no severe heart, lung, or kidney disease)
  • You speak Greek or English fluently
  • You are having surgery for a below-knee fracture that requires a tourniquet for at least 45 minutes
  • You have no skin infection or inflammation where the nerve block injection would go
  • You are not allergic to local anesthetics or other pain medications
