Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You are in an intensive care unit (ICU) in Scandinavia for a serious brain injury (stroke or traumatic head injury)
  • Your injury is moderate to severe in nature
  • You are currently on a breathing machine (ventilator) and expected to need it for at least 24 hours
  • Your medical team believes you have a reasonable chance of survival and are not pursuing comfort-only care
