Who can take part

  • You have type 2 diabetes with fasting blood sugar of at least 126 mg/dl and random blood sugar below 200 mg/dl
  • Your HbA1c (a 3-month blood sugar average) is 6.5% or higher
  • You are between 25 and 60 years old
  • You have a tooth with a root infection confirmed by X-ray that affects multiple roots
  • You have not taken antibiotics in the past 3 months
  • Your tooth can be isolated and treated with a rubber dam during the procedure
