Who can take part
- Diagnosed with a stroke caused by a blood clot (ischemic stroke) or bleeding (intracerebral hemorrhage) in the brain
- Admitted to the hospital within 24 hours of when your stroke symptoms started
- Age 18 or older (or under 18 if enrolling in the pediatric stroke program)
- Able to provide informed consent yourself, or have a representative provide it on your behalf
- Not currently enrolled in another stroke study that uses a placebo (inactive treatment)
- Your stroke did not occur during a hospital stay or medical procedure
