Who can take part
- You have end-stage kidney disease and need to start dialysis within 2 months
- You are 18 years or older and able to give informed consent
- Your blood vessels in your upper arm meet size requirements (vein at least 7mm, artery at least 4mm diameter)
- Your heart function is acceptable (ejection fraction ≥40%, normal blood pressure and artery pressure)
- You do not have active infections, blood clotting disorders, or severe heart disease
- You can attend all trial visits and follow-up appointments for at least 2 years
