Who can take part
- Your infant must be between 2 days and 1 year old (at least 38 weeks gestational age)
- Your infant must weigh at least 2.5 kg (about 5.5 pounds)
- Your infant has a heart condition (present from birth or acquired) and experienced an unplanned cardiac arrest
- The cardiac arrest required chest compressions for at least 2 minutes, and your infant is now in a coma or showing signs of brain injury
- Your infant is on a breathing machine (mechanical ventilation) and can have the device cap placed within 2 hours of the heart stopping
- You (the parent/guardian) speak English or Spanish and can provide consent before a cardiac arrest occurs
