Vagus Nerve Stimulation to Improve Heart Function in Parkinson's Disease

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (PD without a known secondary cause)
  • Your Parkinson's medications have been stable for at least 4 weeks before joining
  • You are not currently taking beta-blocker medications for your heart or blood pressure
  • Your blood pressure is controlled (below 180/110 mmHg when seated)
  • You do not have significant heart problems like arrhythmias, angina, heart failure, or previous heart attacks
  • You have no history of seizures and normal thinking and memory abilities
