Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • English is your first language, or you grew up speaking English and another language together from childhood
  • At least 6 months have passed since your stroke or traumatic brain injury
  • You have difficulty producing speech (aphasia) or difficulty planning the movements needed to speak (apraxia of speech)
  • You do not have other brain or neurological conditions like autism, schizophrenia, or epilepsy/seizures
  • You can understand spoken language reasonably well, and you are not on medications that significantly affect brain chemicals
