Who can take part
- You are a woman aged 20 to 75 years old
- You have overactive bladder symptoms: urinating 8+ times per day, waking 2+ times per night to urinate, and experiencing urgent needs to urinate 2+ times per week for at least 3 months
- You have metabolic syndrome, meaning you meet at least 3 of these: waist circumference of 80 cm or more, high blood pressure (130/85 or higher), high fasting blood sugar (100 mg/dL or higher), high triglycerides (150 mg/dL or higher), or low 'good' cholesterol (under 50 mg/dL)
- You have not taken medications or received injections for overactive bladder in the past 3 months
- You have no history of kidney stones, bladder stones, recent urinary tract infections, or recent bladder surgery
- You are willing and able to complete study visits, questionnaires, and shock wave therapy sessions
