Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • Your BMI (body mass index) is 35 or higher, and you've tried weight-loss programs for at least 2 years without success
  • You are scheduled for or have already had Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (a weight-loss surgery) at Geneva Hospital
  • You understand French and are able to commit to lifelong follow-up care after surgery
  • You are willing and able to give consent and understand the need for major lifestyle and eating changes
  • You do not have serious health conditions that would make surgery unsafe (such as severe kidney disease, active cancer, Crohn's disease, or untreated psychiatric illness)
