Who can take part
- Baby must be between newborn and 3 months old
- Baby must weigh between 2.5 and 3.5 kg (about 5.5–7.7 pounds)
- Baby must have aortic coarctation (narrowing of the main artery from the heart) planned for surgery
- Baby must be stable enough for anesthesia and surgery
- Parents or legal guardians must sign consent form
- Baby cannot have severe damage to multiple organs or major additional heart defects
