Testing HMS1005 in adults with type 2 diabetes

  • Age 18–65 years old
  • Type 2 diabetes diagnosed by standard criteria, either untreated or on stable diabetes medication
  • Blood sugar (HbA1c) between 7.0% and 10.5%
  • Healthy overall except for diabetes, with no serious heart, kidney, or liver disease
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding (if female), and willing to use contraception
  • Not currently taking insulin, some newer diabetes drugs, or certain medications that interact with HMS1005
