Who can take part

  • Age between 50 and 65 years old
  • Had an ischemic stroke (caused by a blood clot) 3 to 6 months ago
  • Weakness or paralysis in one upper arm and hand from the stroke
  • Mild to moderate muscle stiffness in the affected arm (not severe)
  • Able to think and communicate clearly (score of 25 or higher on a memory test)
  • No pacemaker or other condition that would prevent electrical nerve stimulation
