Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • Your overall health is in reasonably good condition (ASA level I–III, meaning no severe heart, lung, or organ problems)
  • You can understand how to use a pain-rating scale and a pain-control button after surgery
  • You do not have bleeding disorders or take blood-thinning medications
  • You are not allergic to pain-relief or anesthetic drugs
  • You do not have an active infection where the nerve block would be injected
