This study tests whether giving a special antibody medicine (called RSV-SMA) to babies aged 6–9 months can help prevent respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a common virus that causes serious breathing problems in young children. Your baby would receive the medicine and be followed to see if it helps protect them.

Who can take part

  • Your baby is Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Your baby is between 6 and 9 months old
  • You are willing to give informed consent for your baby to participate
  • You can follow all study visits and allow the study team to review your baby's medical records and vaccination history
  • Your baby has not had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to RSV-SMA before
  • Your baby has not received RSV-SMA at 3 months of age or older
