  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You are scheduled for elective (planned, not emergency) minimally invasive heart valve surgery through a small chest incision
  • You are in generally good health (ASA status I–III, meaning you have no serious medical conditions or only mild/moderate conditions)
  • You can understand and rate your pain level on a 0–10 scale
  • You are willing and able to provide written informed consent
