Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old
- You are in generally good health (ASA I-III means your doctor agrees you're fit enough for regional anesthesia)
- Your surgery is planned in advance (not an emergency)
- You will receive regional anesthesia (a numbing injection rather than general anesthesia that puts you to sleep)
- You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood-thinning medications that cannot be stopped
- Your BMI is 40 kg/m² or lower
