Ankle Instability and Pelvic Structure in Male Athletes

Who can take part

  • You are a male football player aged 18–35 years old
  • You have a documented lateral ankle sprain (a sprain on the outside of the ankle) that happened at least 12 months ago and initially caused you to restrict weight-bearing for at least one day
  • You have experienced at least 2 episodes of your ankle 'giving way' in the 6–12 months before joining the study
  • Your most recent ankle injury was more than 3 months ago
  • You feel your injured ankle is chronically weaker or less functional than the other side since before your first sprain
  • You score below 24 on the Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (a questionnaire about ankle symptoms) or you have no history of ankle sprains at all
