Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You have been diagnosed with or show signs of a chronic (long-term) lung disease such as interstitial lung disease, sarcoidosis, or emphysema
  • You had a lung tissue biopsy (small sample taken during a procedure) as part of your regular medical care, and that sample is still available and stored properly
  • Your medical records contain enough information about your health history, work or environmental exposures, smoking habits, and test results
  • You have not objected to researchers using your stored tissue sample and health information for this research
