Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You have been diagnosed with moderate or advanced gum disease (periodontitis, stage II or III)
  • You have at least one tooth with a deep gum pocket (5 mm or deeper) and bone loss shown on X-rays
  • You have at least one area of bone loss between tooth roots that is 3 mm or deeper on X-rays
  • You have not smoked in the past year
  • You are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
