This study measures how well oxygen is being delivered to your body in patients with severe heart failure or cardiogenic shock. You'll be monitored using a catheter (tube) already placed in your heart's blood vessels to help doctors understand your condition better.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have been diagnosed with advanced heart failure or cardiogenic shock (severe heart pumping problems)
  • You already have a pulmonary artery catheter in place (a monitoring tube in your heart's vessels)
  • You are able to give informed consent and make medical decisions for yourself
  • You are not on a ventilator or home oxygen therapy
  • You do not have severe liver or kidney disease requiring dialysis, and have not had a liver or kidney transplant
