Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • Your heart is currently in normal rhythm (not in atrial fibrillation)
  • You need a permanent pacemaker with a lead going to your upper heart chamber
  • You have not had atrial fibrillation for a long time, or had your heart's natural electrical pathway blocked
  • You do not have a previous pacemaker or defibrillator that needs replacement or upgrade
  • You have not had a heart attack or severe chest pain in the last 3 months
