Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- Your doctor says you need a permanent pacemaker because your heart's natural pacemaker (sinus node) isn't working well
- You do not have persistent or permanent atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat lasting more than 7 days)
- You have not had a prior pacemaker, defibrillator, or similar heart device that needs replacement or upgrading
- You are expected to live at least 1 more year and are willing to give informed consent
