Who can take part
- You need at least one upper back molar (6-year molar or larger) that is badly damaged and needs extraction
- A CT scan (CBCT) must show a large bone defect with an opening into your maxillary sinus (the air-filled space above your upper teeth)
- You must be at least 20 years old
- You cannot have a systemic disease (a disease affecting your whole body) that slows healing, such as uncontrolled diabetes or immune disorders
- You must not be a heavy smoker, since smoking severely impairs bone healing
