- You are between 60 and 90 years old
- You have intermediate AMD (AREDS category 3) with specific drusen and retinal changes visible on eye exam
- Your best corrected vision is between 20/40 and 20/25 in the study eye
- You have not had cataract surgery in the past 3 months or other eye surgery in the past 6 months
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding and have no serious medical conditions that would prevent study participation
- You have not received previous thermal laser or radiation treatment to the macula or eye area
