Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old
  • You need elective (planned) fusion surgery on one or two levels of your lower spine
  • Your general health is stable enough for surgery (ASA status I–III)
  • Your BMI is less than 35 kg/m²
  • You have not taken opioid pain medications regularly for more than 3 months
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners
