Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older at diagnosis
- You have been diagnosed with medullary thyroid cancer confirmed by biopsy or blood tests showing high calcitonin levels
- You are a good candidate for surgery to remove part or all of your thyroid
- You do not have a family history of medullary thyroid cancer caused by a RET gene mutation
- Your ultrasound does not show suspicious lymph nodes in the neck or concerning nodules that haven't been biopsied
