Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with squamous cell lung cancer that is advanced (stage IIIB/IIIC or IV) and cannot be cured with surgery or radiation
- Your tumor has tested positive for a protein called PD-L1 using a specific lab test (the 22C3 assay)
- You have not received prior chemotherapy or immunotherapy for your current cancer (some prior radiation or chemo for earlier-stage disease is allowed if it was at least 6 months ago)
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured on imaging scans
- You are in good enough health to tolerate treatment (ECOG performance status 0 or 1)
- You have adequate function in your heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys
