AI study of lung cancer risk in smokers using CT scans

This study uses artificial intelligence to analyze CT scan images and identify which smokers are at highest risk for lung cancer. You'll have a CT scan and provide your smoking history to help doctors better predict and prevent lung cancer.

Who can take part

  • You are or were a smoker with at least 20 pack-years (roughly 1 pack per day for 20 years, or equivalent)
  • You quit smoking no more than 15 years ago, or you currently smoke
  • You are between 50 and 80 years old
  • You can lie on your back for at least 10 minutes without difficulty
  • You do not have severe heart disease requiring multiple medications or severe lung disease requiring oxygen
  • You have not had radiation therapy to your chest
