New Drug Combination for Advanced Hormone-Receptor Positive Breast Cancer

Who can take part

  • Female, age 18 or older, and either postmenopausal (age 60+, or younger with 12+ months without periods and confirmed hormone levels) or willing to take an LHRH agonist injection every month
  • Diagnosed with advanced or metastatic breast cancer (spread beyond the breast) that cannot be cured with surgery or radiation alone
  • Cancer is hormone-receptor positive (ER/PR positive) and HER2-negative, confirmed by recent biopsy
  • Genetic test shows PIK3CA mutation in your cancer (blood or tumor tissue)
  • Cancer got worse during or within 12 months after finishing hormone therapy (like aromatase inhibitors or tamoxifen)
  • At least one measurable tumor visible on imaging (not just bone-only metastases)
  • Good overall health and able to take pills by mouth and receive injections
