This study tests whether talking with a counselor about oral health motivation, combined with a special cleaning procedure below the gum line, helps treat gum disease better. You'll be randomly assigned to receive this counseling approach or standard treatment.

Who can take part

  • Age between 30 and 50 years old
  • Diagnosed with moderate gum disease (periodontitis, stages I–III)
  • No serious medical conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or immune disorders
  • Not taking long-term antibiotics
  • Not pregnant, breastfeeding, or past menopause
  • No braces now and no plans to get braces during the study
