Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (specifically idiopathic Parkinson's disease)
  • Your Parkinson's is at an early to mid stage (stages 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 on the Hoehn & Yahr scale)
  • You do not have other neurological diseases besides Parkinson's
  • You are generally healthy enough to exercise (no serious heart, lung, or metabolic conditions that would make exercise unsafe)
  • You have not been hospitalized or had a major flare-up of symptoms in the last 3 months
  • You have not done a structured exercise program (strength or aerobic) in the last 3 months
