Who can take part
- Age 18–65 years
- Neck pain lasting at least 3 months
- Current neck pain rated 4 or higher on a 0–10 pain scale
- Tight, painful knot in the upper shoulder muscle (trapezius) that reproduces your pain when pressed
- No diagnosed medical conditions causing your neck pain (such as arthritis or fibromyalgia)
- No tingling, burning, or electric-shock sensations radiating from your neck
