- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You are able to carry out daily activities with little or no help (ECOG 0–1).
- You have a type of esophageal cancer called squamous cell carcinoma that hasn't been treated yet.
- Your cancer is at a stage where surgery is possible (like stage II or III) and your doctors think all of the tumor can be removed.
- You have not had any other cancer in the last 5 years, and you do not have an active autoimmune disease or active hepatitis/HIV.
