Nerve-Stretching Techniques for Sciatica Pain Relief
Part of Brain & nervous system, Pain clinical trials.
This trial compares two hands-on physical therapy techniques—one that stretches the sciatic nerve and one that moves it gently—to see which works better for sciatica pain that has lasted several months. You'll receive one of these treatments to help reduce leg pain and improve your ability to walk and move.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.

This study tests whether adding kinesio tape (a flexible, supportive tape) to a motor control exercise program helps reduce sciatica pain more than exercises alone. It may help improve movement and reduce pain in your leg.
This study tests whether combining a mild electrical stimulation of the sciatic nerve with specific exercises can reduce leg pain from sciatica. It is for people whose nerve-related leg pain has lasted over 6 months and is at least a 3 out of 10 in intensity.
This study tests if adding myofascial release (a type of hands-on therapy for tight muscles) to a standard self-stretching program helps relieve sciatica pain and improve movement. It's for people with long-standing (chronic) one-sided sciatica.
This trial compares two simple exercises (SNAG and SNME) to see which works better for people with long-lasting sciatic leg pain. If you have had pain going down one leg for over 3 months and have not had treatment in the last month, this study may help find relief.
This study tests a program called Move-MORE that combines exercise and mindfulness to help people with nerve-related leg pain (sciatica) that has lasted at least 3 months. You would use the program at home, attend weekly video sessions for 8 weeks, and complete questionnaires and daily surveys to see if the program improves your pain and quality of life.
This trial tests if a single session of electrical stimulation to the sciatic nerve can quickly reduce leg pain related to low back problems. It may help if you have had chronic sciatica (leg pain from your back) for more than 6 months and your pain has recently been interfering with daily life.
