Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years old or older
  • You cannot have active atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) or other irregular heart rhythms
  • You cannot have an open chest wound or recent open-chest surgery
  • You cannot have known right ventricular failure (a specific type of heart weakness)
  • You must be evaluated or treated by UPMC Emergency Medical Services or arrive at a UPMC hospital where the study team can access your medical records
