Who can take part

  • You have multiple blocked arteries in your heart requiring bypass surgery
  • Your heart pumping strength is at least 30% (ejection fraction ≥30%)
  • You are having bypass surgery only—no other heart procedures at the same time
  • Your surgeon plans to use the standard on-pump bypass method (not off-pump)
  • You have no metal implants or other reasons you cannot safely have an MRI scan
  • You are able to understand and agree to participate in the study
