Who can take part

  • You are diagnosed with coronary artery disease and are scheduled for off-pump heart bypass surgery.
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • Your heart pumps well (ejection fraction over 40%) and the main pumping chamber is not enlarged (less than 60 mm).
  • You do not have severe heart valve problems or other major blood vessel issues that need surgery.
  • You have not had prior vagus nerve surgery or a vagus nerve block, and you don't have severe injuries, bleeding problems, or cancer.
