Safety Study of DX243 for Hearing Loss in Noise

Age-related Hearing Loss

This study tests a new medicine (DX243) to see if it is safe and well-tolerated in people with hearing difficulties, especially trouble hearing speech in noisy environments. The goal is to understand how the body processes this medicine and whether it might help improve hearing.

Who can take part

  • You have noticed difficulty hearing in noisy environments for at least 6 months before screening
  • You have a speech-in-noise hearing deficit (trouble understanding speech in background noise) in at least one ear, confirmed by hearing tests
  • Your hearing ranges from normal to moderately severe impairment on audiometric testing
  • You do not have a perforated eardrum (hole in the eardrum) or current ear infection
  • You have not had any ear surgery in the past
  • You are not taking any medications known to damage hearing (ototoxic drugs)
