Fat-derived cells injection for hard-to-treat reflux disease

Who can take part

  • Age 18–75 years
  • Moderate-to-severe acid reflux confirmed by testing, either not controlled by acid-blocking drugs or requiring high doses to work
  • Normal or near-normal esophagus muscle function (ruled out by specialized swallowing test)
  • Willing to have a small fat sample harvested from your body and receive the cell injection
  • No large hiatal hernia (opening in diaphragm), severe ulcers, Barrett's esophagus with abnormal cells, or achalasia (severe swallowing difficulty)
