Who can take part

  • Age 18 or older
  • Recently diagnosed with active tuberculosis, latent TB infection, TB of the fluid around lungs, or nontuberculous mycobacterial infection (within the last week)
  • Not currently using long-term steroids or other immune-suppressing medications
  • No HIV infection, severe malnutrition, or serious liver, kidney, heart, or blood disorders
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Willing to provide informed consent and follow study procedures
