- Recently diagnosed with active tuberculosis, latent TB infection, TB of the fluid around lungs, or nontuberculous mycobacterial infection (within the last week)
- Not currently using long-term steroids or other immune-suppressing medications
- No HIV infection, severe malnutrition, or serious liver, kidney, heart, or blood disorders
- Not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Willing to provide informed consent and follow study procedures
