Who can take part
- You are scheduled for open kidney removal surgery (nephrectomy)
- Your BMI is between 20 and 35 kg/m² (your height-to-weight ratio falls in this range)
- Your overall health status is ASA II or III (you may have one or two mild-to-moderate medical conditions, but you're generally stable)
- You are not allergic to local anesthetics (numbing medicines) or opioids (pain medications)
- You do not have severe heart, lung, liver, or kidney disease
- You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners at high doses
